Not pursuing your “own pleasure” on the Sabbath requires self-discipline. You may have to deny yourself of something you might like. If you choose to delight yourself in the Lord, you will not permit yourself to treat it as any other day. Routine and recreational activities can be done some
other time.
“And inasmuch as ye do these
things with thanksgiving, with cheer-
ful hearts and countenances, . . . the fulness of the earth is yours.” 13
In addition to your going

given unto you—that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me.

15 And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore,according to the power of the Father I will draw all menunto me, that they may be judged according to theirworks.
16 And it shall come to pass, that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless
before my Father at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.
17 And he that endureth not unto the end, the same is hethat is also hewn down and cast into the fire, from whencethey can no more return, because of the justice of theFather.

21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know the things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye
also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do;

79 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them.
